Cursor is moving away from an editor-centric UI. Folks must be embracing that paradigm and prefer to not read the code. In part I'd guess that's motivated by not wanting to know how the sausage is made because it's at least 50% slop which is difficult to feel good about.
Part of the problem with LLMs is that they exist to generate things and most good things require spending a majority of energy reducing what's generated.

Hmm. I realized that I really wanna stay naive and believe that involuntary not caring is a function of either ignorance or sociopathy. Where the former can be cured by being exposed to a different world than the safe one (or the one that gaslit you) and the latter currently does not have a cure, but I want to also stay confident that humanity will find a way to fix this eventually.
