49ers only have 6 picks in the draft now after yesterday’s trade. Since I think they need 3 solid contributors out of this draft class and there are no home runs at 27, I swapped the 49ers first and a fourth round pick for the Patriots first and second round picks.

I did like moving up to get another 2nd but next time I will look for a trade that will garner them a couple more picks instead.

31- I have to go OT with the first pick until the Trent Williams situation is settled. If they come to an agreement with Trent, Miller can step in a LG for the next couple seasons before kicking out to LT.

58- Even after the Evans signing the 49ers are light at WR so I will pick one who can contribute this season.

63- The 49ers don’t seem sold on Renardo Green who they picked in the second round a couple years ago. He has shown flashes of being a really solid starting corner in the NFL but a number of boneheaded mistakes have put him in Shanahan’s doghouse. So we need some competition for the outside spot opposite Lenoir.

127- Similar to the WR situation the 49ers addressed a big need on the interior DLine. Their starters are set but they are pretty light depth wise. Bring in another young guy as a rotational piece.

138- 49ers should be set with their core group at Edge with Bosa and Williams coming back but they could use another young depth piece.

139- Another WR. Loading up here because I don’t know if Watkins and Cowing who are guys they drafted last year and the year before are going to contribute. Cowing was hurt all last year and Watkins flashed in preseason but got put on a redshirt year by Shanahan because he didn’t prove he was worthy to jump ahead of other guys. Normally that wouldn’t be a concern but considering all the injuries they had at WR you would have to think he would prove worthy of some leash. So since we don’t know what these guys can contribute going forward the answer to WR is simply MORE.
