Although they are really just collector items these days, the AsicMiner Block Erupter USB miner can still be used for solo mining. There are a bunch of youtube videos explaining how.

I bought a few of them on eBay just because I think they're cool.

I feel like you should open up a private museum with all the BTC-related artefacts that you have gathered

I would not expect them to work but do you know if they would not work with a mining pool?

reply

I heard they can get to 80° C

reply

yeah that's why do not have large timespan.
I've burned a lot of them even with good ventilation.

reply

that's almost boiling or melting point

reply

Good point. It must be an exaggeration. I heard it from some random youtuber.

How much hash pf power this provide?

reply

Ha! About 330 Mh/s. They are from a different time. It makes no sense to really mine with them.

hahaha yes, I still have 2 of these. In the past I had like 25.
Only one is still functional. I keep them only as relics.

not worth it to put them nowadays to mine. You will have a lot of stale hashes.

OMG... I am going to buy a few

If $100 is really the going price, then maybe I can recoup my investment.

I have been telling people being Horader would pay off in the long run.

reply

That's way more expensive than what I paid. Let me tell you my experience. I found the cheapest listing on eBay, then saw the guy offered a low price of $18 for 4 or more. I think they sold new for $13 back in the day. I bought 4, and paid $87.49, which includes shipping. When it arrived, the package contained 10 of them. I have a hunch the seller has so many of these he is looking to get rid of them. I plan on selling them cheaply for sats on satwize.com. I'm really just looking to more or less break even, and keep one or two for myself.
