JUST DO IT! Shoes, apparel and all things sports.

My Thoughts 💭My Thoughts 💭

Nike is a powerful brand. Thanks to the GOAT Michael Jordan Nike brand became synonymous with greatness. With fantastic marketing and taking advantage of cheap labor (sweatshops anyone) Nike became one of the biggest brands in the world. In my neighborhood growing up you had to have a pair a Nikes or other name brand shoes to avoid being picked on or be labeled poor as Nike became a status symbol for underclass Americans. The only reason I own shares in this company is due to this experiment..

Let’s take a look at the fundamentals from a bitcoin perspective!

At 90.4k sats per share ($68,977), and a 2.3k sat per share yearly dividend. It would take 39 years of dividends payments to recover the initial investment of this company.

The company trades at a PE 36 which means investors are paying $36 to access $1 of earnings. Stock is expensive! Paying a lot of premium to own a piece of this worldwide brand.

Let’s review some key fundamentals to determine if this stock is worth spending sats on.

The fundamentals of this company are solid. The balance sheet is good, the growth prospects are decent, pays a dividend, a meh profit margin, and an overpaid CEO who is doing a decent job running this company.

From a bitcoin lens an investor is getting a strong brand in the last market AI probably won’t disrupt, live sports. 90k + sats price for this company is steep but with the dividend and brand recognition I think their is value here.

Here is my performance since I started buying shares almost 5 years ago:

Here is the performance according to Simply Wall Street

The market has a been a net seller of this company and I can see why. More competition and Nike is losing star power athletes to drive sales. But like Jeremy ( investor from experiment) I can see why he is bullish on this company. The fundamentals aren’t bad at all. The growth is decent, strong brand, and they pay a dividend.

I will continue to add shares of Nike due to my experiment but the fundamentals make it a decent investment for sat spenders. If you like sports gear and supporting rich athletes spend some sats on this company it is set up to be a nice investment for years to come.
