As much as Elon wants to push development of space data centers there are still key critical issues that must be addressed first like the cooling of such systems. Voyager Tech CEO stated the following
“It’s counterintuitive, but it’s hard to actually cool things in space because there’s no medium to transmit hot to cold,” he said. “So essentially, all heat dissipation has to happen via radiation, which means you need to have a radiator pointing away from the sun to do that.”
That is something easy to forget but also a critical thing. It was only recently that we started to launch GPUs into space to see how they perform and to be able to iron out the needs and capabilities isnt going to be the quickest project especially when we look at scaling the chips up into server racks and then link though each is going to have different needs and that will take time and delay the ability to rapidly shoot them into space.
So I'm not going to get a space jacuzzi? 😭
