Ugh. I wish I could. I bought $50 worth today. My wife has won the battle and we are renting our house out and renting a larger house. I am paying the whole year rental up front on Monday. Beautiful new build home. 4 families were in the running to rent it so I said screw it let's just pay the year up front to give us an edge. Stupid ass idea grayruby! haha
You're right. Timing sucks but it will be good for us. We bought the place we live now as a second/vacation property for both using and investment purposes while we lived in the city. Of course after covid arrived, my family started using it a lot because they didn't want to be in the city during the pandemic. Once I decided to sell my stake in the business we settled here full time. The place has always been a bit too small, add in the fact that the kids keep growing, we got the dog a couple years ago and my wife likes to buy stuff, we are kind of at our limits in this place. I was hoping to hold off until after we came back from Texas in May but I did not win that debate.
Another 12-24 months for the best buying opportunities. When you have lived through several 4 year cycles you will understand. This is my third. Picking the price will bottom out around USD$30-40k sometime in 2027.
