This question has been on my mind a lot lately.
I'm not a Bitcoin expert, but I already know enough to understand that this is the only form of money that can really help us move forward, or rather, that it's the only real place where we can take refuge and deposit our energy to store value.
Obviously, I didn't wake up one day and suddenly become a Bitcoin expert. Reaching this level of thinking required (and still requires, because you never stop studying and digging into the rabbit holes once you start) many hours of study and dedication.
But it's worth noting that I never had anyone teaching me directly.
My teachers live on the internet: Lunaticoin, Arkad, DarthCoin, Alberto Mera, Juan, to name a few. (I am deeply grateful to them for their extraordinary work, which allows us to awaken and absorb truly useful information that can be applied to the strategy of improving our lives).
After reviewing its content countless times, I have been able to form a solid line of thinking and store in my head a wealth of truths about the world that I did not possess before, information capable of shaping a better future.
And so I find myself at a point where I feel it is necessary to convey the message.
And then I asked myself... why is it so difficult to convey this message?
It happens directly with my family, “my mother and my wife's mother.” They are the two most important people to whom I should show the truth and teach everything I have learned. I want them to understand and learn once and for all why they have less purchasing power than they did a few years ago, even though they work harder now. I want them to understand how harmful it has been to leave their efforts and energy at the mercy of monetary tools and policies that have been created to oppress us.
I thought it would be easy. Both have experienced the mega devaluation of the bolivar in recent years and have suffered firsthand the devaluation of the dollar over the last 5 or 10 years. And unlike me, I am guiding them, meaning they have someone showing them the way, with real and transparent results. But nevertheless, they are not paying attention.
But despite all that, it's quite difficult, almost impossible. Getting them to understand that they should stop chasing dollars, and advising them, and start saving real money, hard cash. And that of the only options available to do that, the only one within reach is Bitcoin. Which you can obtain 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without restrictions, without permission, and instantly verifiable.
They simply don't listen, they don't read the resources I send them, they don't watch the videos, they just don't study, they are incapable of unlearning in order to learn again.
And it's quite frustrating, at the end of the day it's my mother I see getting older and older. Without preparing for that future, when she still has the strength and tools to keep rowing with a clearer and safer course. It's frustrating to see how they are getting poorer every day and don't realize it.
So I ask myself, how can I get them to take the orange pill 💊🟠⚡ so they can wake up?
What has been your experience with your parents?
My parents often send me information to read about their particular topics of interest and I have to admit, I don't read them.
If people aren't interested in a thing, if they aren't feeling some kind of strong compulsion, they probably won't care enough to spend time on it.
Maybe they won't ever be interested in the resources you send them. I know that in the case of my own parents, they seem to agree with me about Bitcoin when we speak, but as far as I can tell, they don't want to act on it (they don't buy bitcoin). Somehow all of my excitement about bitcoin has thus far only resulted in my father thinking MSTR is a really hot stock. I guess people just have to come to it on their own sometimes.
What I'm saying isn't helpful for how to orange pill your parents, but maybe it's helpful for you -- I think a big part of the wisdom of orange-pilling is knowing when to stop.
Very wise words, thank you for sharing your opinion.
I completely agree. I'm practically at that point myself. I've talked to them about it many times, and I hope I've at least made them aware that this exists. I'm in a similar situation, and now I don't share information or pursue the topic. My mother, for example, asks me questions from time to time and seems interested, but in the end, she doesn't change her Fiat and doesn't start hoarding. My eldest daughter is not interested in talking about it, but at least I have noticed that she is stacking every few days. I don't know if she is spending it or if she is really stacking it. I want to think that she is listening to the call and doing her homework. But for my part, I have stopped bombarding them with ideas and information.
I can probably orange pill 1/100 of my male peers, but have never succesfully done so with a woman.
The order that The Bitcoin Standard introduces these concepts is brilliant, and the best way to orange pill. Bitcoin is at the last part of the book.
Most people don't even understand money, and will never be able to make the leap to bitcoin without the foundation of a philosphical understanding of money and the problem it solves.
If you can explain banking, fractional reserves, and the history of protomoney leading up to and including the history of gold banking and the federal reserve, you can then orange pill successfully
practice: the more you talk, listen, and refine your ideas, the better your success rate
audience: most of my peers have a keen interest in money and making more of it -- they are usually keenly interested in the topic, and I let them talk about their investments, they invariably ask about mine and thats when we are off to the races
I agree with several things. The basis of everything is to study the money we carry in our pockets. Once you have studied that, you are able to see Bitcoin.
Most people do not know what money is, and they do not want to study it, which is why they find it difficult to see beyond the price of Bitcoin, or whether the price goes up or down. They still do not have the ability to see beyond what really matters.
i would say understanding gold and why it became money is more important than understanding fiat in the pocket...thats a whole separate book! and a more complex subject
