i didn't know a fourth season was coming but I watched the other three seasons. as straight dudes go, i have a big foo-foo side if you know what i mean. i don't recall much of the other seasons (i tend to forget quickly), but i enjoyed them, so i'm excited for another season. (although i doubt i'm as excited as you are.)
I did find their tension stimulating! The first season hinted that Wesley was Picard's son until the backstory was written. It threw me for a bit of a loop.
