It was going to be tough for the Chiefs to get a lot of yards with their third string QB playing. It actually doesn’t help that the game is close. What you needed was Denver to go up big early so the Chiefs had to throw a lot and Denver would be playing prevent defense (giving up short passes while trying to stop big plays).
