Just a few days ago there was a TV warning not to travel to the US as new visa rules come in requiring applicants to disclose their last 5 years social media posts.
Commentators were comparing this to the rules applied in autocracies...not democracies.
You can even get approved the US visa but then have it withdrawn once you are in the US on your travel and so then have to immediately return home.
This new rule appears to apply to countries previously considered friendly toward the US.
Fuck that.
Most countries have a less invasive procedure for that for getting residency. Let alone just visiting.
I probably won't be visiting the US any more if they go ahead with that for Canadians.

Not sure if it applies to Canada but does apply to over 40 countries -
'US President Donald Trump's administration is planning to order visa-exempt foreign tourists, including Australians, to disclose their social media histories from the past five years before entering the country.
The proposal, laid out in a notice published on Tuesday in the Federal Register, would apply to visitors from Australia and 41 other countries, including New Zealand, Britain, France and Japan, who do not currently need a visa to enter the United States.'
