LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Lakers will host the San Antonio Spurs on their standard court in the NBA Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday, rather than their bright yellow alternative Cup court, sources told ESPN.
Hallelujah! Whoever thought the brightly colored NBA cup courts were a good idea needs to be fired, or at the very least, publicly shamed and mocked.

Luka complained about the court being slippery so they switch to the normal court for the last game of group play as well. It apparently didn't help much. Spurs ran them all over the court. Maybe the slippery court would have helped slow the Spurs down.

I know as a viewer I detest the NBA Cup court designs. Putting the slipperiness issues aside, I wonder how the players felt about playing on such garishly colored courts. Like does the color affect their performance, or is it neutral?

I think they are probably used to it now but I imagine the first couple times it was probably quite distracting to play on these courts.
