You should really use onchain for highly-expensive transaction or some channel activity (open, close, splice). LN is always cheaper, faster, more private and even allows smaller transaction size at milisats increments.

Simple answer : allocate small portion of paycheck to stack sats. Slowly learn why fiat value erodes over time.
