Hey, thanks for sharing this!
Let me go through your questions.
- Whether existing campaigns can be converted to AoN, and how that would work
No. You cannot migrate an existing project, you will need to create a new All or Nothing campaign.
- Any technical or timing considerations when switching a live project
Think carefully about the goal amount. One way of thinking about it is: "Would I be upset if I had to give back X amount if i did not reach the goal? And, what is the amount that i need at minimum to make this happen?"
- What happens to contributions that have already been made
Contributions made to your non-AON project have been settled.
- Any docs or next steps you’d recommend if this is possible
Here is an explainer of what is AON for, and why we built it. https://about.geyser.fund/blog/all-or-nothing-on-bitcoin
...
We'll be releasing demos and explainers, hope this helps!
You can easily launch an AON here: https://geyser.fund/launch
They can claim the funds back by clicking "Claim refund" and add a lightning address or bitcoin onchain address. Then the funds are swaped back from Rootstock BTC to Lightning or Onchain.
Correct. If project does not reach 100% within that set time, the contributor can get a full refund (minus network fees).
It's super powerful model :)
Yes, would love to help! Feel free to simply launch the project on here - https://geyser.fund/launch and get in touch with the team at support@geyser.fund if easier
For sure! Things are happening at Grassroots level :)
Super cool! Are you guys on https://geyser.fund/? 👀 Lot's of other Bitcoin games like Hero of Bitcoin launched on Geyser selling rewards/perks to help fund and expand their game. Feel free to reach out to the team on TG or X for a chat.
This is awesome, we'd love to see this project launch a campaign on Geyser to receive donations from the Bitcoin community.
Yes, we'll post more!
Lowering our fees to creators? We already charge some of the lowest fees in the industry (0%-5%) - see here. Not only that but Geyser is free to use if you run your own node. Can we really expect this Bitcoin ecosystem to thrive when everyone expects free services?
Great to hear! Agree increasing the reach of worthy project is one of our key priorities going forward. We are doing a lot already on X and Nostr, and have a monthly newsletter highlighting new project launches and monthly trending projects that we also post on here and in our newsletter.
Would it be too much to post on here every time there is a worthwhile project?
Thanks for this. We send out monthly updates of new project launches, should we think about sending weekly ones too?
We also send a lot of info on X and Nostr. Are you guys more on SN?
Hey, sorry for the issue. We're going to be improving these infrastructure issue in a big way soon.
The main issues we are experiencing, are issues with reliability with certain creator wallet setups, these include: nodes, LSPs and non-custodial lightning wallets.
So if you're looking to ramp up reliability we recommend custodial wallets like Blink, Strike, Bitnob, and other available in your area.
In the coming months we will be making some big infrastructure changes, and should not be an issue any longer.
