I used to think content creation was one of them, eg course, e-books, etc., but it actually requires you to show up constantly (with ongoing work), and it takes way more effort now than it used to, now that everyone wants to be a content creator... back then, someone might have just copied your content, but now it's more like everything you share gets sucked into AI's database. 😅
Another issue is the massive amount of content being produced each day with attention-grabbing titles or photos, I'm not sure how many people still bother digging up old posts when they think they can just ask AI directly.
I mean, is it really something that you can create once and sell twice? Many marketers promote this idea, then sell you courses. From my experience, this so-called "create once and sell twice" seems more like plenty of upfront work followed by slightly low-maintenance work, but it's ongoing; even in the software world, you still need to maintain it.
However, I am happy to be proven wrong.
It seems there is quite some misunderstanding of my Question here. My point is that, from my experience, most work requires ongoing effort, even if it's minimal; Don't fall into believing those so-called passive income or "build once, sell twice" internet things, basically anything that is too good to be true.

Hmm only if you have a tendency to destroy it? Maintaining integrity isn't really something that takes effort, unless you're faking it.
I mean as in don't do anything to destroy it, a mistake can ruin years of effort.
If that takes effort, you're probably faking it too, lol. (mistakes don't ruin integrity)
Effort to think about doing what's right vs. what's wrong. making the right decision, especially long term takes effort.
Also, in this post, I want to talk about something tangible, product-wise.
If thinking is effort, then what you're really asking is: how can I for all intents and purposes die and still make money. And the answer to that is: capture the legal system and get royalties.
This is not what I am asking. I am trying to say the people/marketers who put this idea out there"create once and sell" is making up a lie that you don't need to do the ongoing work.
How you sell integrity, siiiiir?
Simple. You go talk to someone that you think needs you and your integrity will irradiate from you, into their braincells and then they hire you, because you're just that awesome.
If you've been doing it for a longer time and you're not some anon, then your reputation will precede you.

That's right... when I arrived here in Brazil I came across that... I don't think there's an influencer who doesn't sell a course on something.
Most of my articles I try to double-dip: use the material several times over: for newsletter, for article, for larger projects, for SN.

No. Usually things (= the topics, raw material/components) fascinate me to the point of obsession. So it's nice to make lots of use for them.

In our case, with the SWAP shop, shirts is something we set the design once and we can sell multiple times.
That's a business, but it still requires ongoing work, just slightly low maintenance.
I understand your point now. Your goal is very difficult to achieve. Everything requires ongoing maintenance and adjustments. Even if you create a book or piece of music, you must still maintain it to ensure it sells. Without that effort, your work will become obsolete and buried by newer content.
The same happen here on SN... good luck stacking some sats from old posts.
I am not looking for anything here, that's not my goal... I'm only sharing my experience and pointing out what those people said is wrong and full of lies, and I am happy to be proven wrong tho.
