I was selling Bitcoin for dollars on eBay in 2013. It lasted less than a week after I got scammed out of 0.3 BTC. The buyer claimed they didn't receive the sats, and eBay sided with the buyer even though I could prove the sats were sent. I don't think Bitcoin belongs on eBay because eBay isn't Bitcoin native and the staff isn't specialized in how to handle it.
I've been an eBayer since 2009. I'm on my second account. You're right, it shouldn't be like this, but it is. eBay and the other big players are power factions and they have captured the network.
Over the years I have tried to opt out of eBay and Amazon. I used OpenBazaar, Brawker, Bitmit, CryptoThrift and Satscrap. I made 1 sale in Bitcoin land where I would make 100 sales on eBay. Every one of those Bitcoin marketplace platforms failed. The network is everything.
Sure, dip your feet in the alternative marketplaces. Early days and all. It will change, but right now they probably won't sustain you like eBay can.
Just try again. It sucks but you gotta move on to stay in the game.
