Any active job platforms for developers to get paid in BTC?

I've been checking platforms with job listings that offer payment in BTC. But a lot of jobs require specific web3 tech-stack knowledge and experience.

I'm a Software Engineer and programmer specialized in modern front-end web frameworks and technologies. I'm open to contribute to exciting new projects by taking care of the whole user experience with a special attention to details most people don't realize are important.

I'm working on my own projects meanwhile, but I would love to know about where to see jobs listings, openings, and tasks that require expertise not only on web3 technologies, but in other roles of software development that should not get overlooked.

For a while ~jobs/new listed a number of jobs where compensation was in bitcoin.

Both Cash App and Strike permit direct deposit. Cash App lets you receive that in BTC if you want. Strike has this as well

The limiting filter may be “paid in BTC” rather than the work itself. For a front-end developer I would run two funnels:

  1. Bitcoin-native: ~jobs and Bitcoiner Jobs for employment; Zap Work/Nostr for small bounties.
  2. Normal clients: sell a fixed deliverable — a landing-page audit, accessibility pass, React bug fix, or Core Web Vitals improvement — then ask to settle the invoice over Lightning. A client does not need to advertise a Bitcoin job before they can pay a Lightning invoice.

For a new profile, make the first offer tiny: “I will diagnose one reproducible front-end issue and give you the patch or exact next step” for a few thousand sats. That creates proof faster than applying to crypto jobs that expect protocol experience.

I went through this recently — here's what's actually alive in 2026 (I checked each one):

Bounty/gig platforms (crypto payouts):

  • Superteam Earn — regular bounties in the $100–$10k range, mostly Solana/Web3 stack; signup is email-whitelist based, so use a mainstream inbox.
  • Bountycaster — Farcaster-native bounty board, short tasks, USDC/ETH payouts.
  • LaborX and CryptoTask — classic freelance gigs with crypto escrow (ETH chains), still active.
  • Geyser.fund — Bitcoin-native crowdfunding; devs get funded in sats for open-source work.

Bitcoin-specific:

  • bitcoinerjobs.com — some roles explicitly pay in BTC.
  • The ~jobs territory right here on Stacker News — posts are infrequent but real (last one was a freelance Bitcoin wallet engineer).
  • Nostr #job tags — sparse but zero-KYC; search relays via nostr.band when it's up.

One tip from my own experience: once you start taking BTC for work, tracking income/taxes in fiat terms becomes the annoying part.
