A channel splice is a coinjoin where one of the inputs is from an open Lightning channel. Splicing saves block space and improves privacy compared to executing each transaction noncooperatively.

A channel splice can be used with a coinjoin if anyone is dumb enough to introduce an external coordinator into their ops, it is not inherently a coinjoin
