According to The Life and Cuisine of Elvis Presley, Presley and his friends took his private jet from Graceland to Denver, purchased 22 of the sandwiches, and spent two hours eating them and drinking Perrier and champagne before flying home.
It consists of a single warmed, hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with the contents of one jar of creamy peanut butter, one jar of jelly, and one pound (454 g) of bacon.

I've never tried bacon with PB&J, but when I was a kid we'd add Doritos or Ruffles. This sounds like a classier version of that.

An Elvis Presley sandwich is peanut butter and banana, which sometimes includes bacon. I'd guess it's some recipe teller's wires that are crossed.
