Hello Stackers!
It is with great sadness that this will be my last "Daily Discussion Thread". We've managed to keep this floating for ~2.5 years. (Much longer than the 6 months people had us down for).
I've enjoyed listening to all the fantastic tracks people have brought in. And I want to give a special shout out to @0xbitcoiner and @kontext who I think between the two of them have missed less than a handful of posts.
Sadly, I'm tapped out of funds and can't justify sinking money into the territory further. It was never about profit, it was about fun thought self sustainment would have been nice.
Still, we are where we are and it is what it is. Thank you to all of you for your support over the last 2 and a bit years.
I wanted to create a space where people came and shared their personal favourites and even their own work. And I think we did that.

Sigs has done plenty for me over the years and doesn't owe me a single sat more, I can't ask sigs for more.
Making territories self sustainable isn't easy, I did my best but the unfortunate reality is any donations would just get burnt through and we'd be back in this position a month or two down the line.

Yikes this is sad!! While I didn’t post to it daily I always appreciated it when I did have a song I wanted to share with the stackers.
I might add this to my already bloated territory pool.
Or if you want to tell me how many sats you need monthly I can try to see if I can help out with that obligation!
I appreciate that B. But unfortunately for me right now it's about the total reallocation of funds whilst diesel sits at around £2/ltr (~$10/gal). And the boy goes through nappies like crazy (which also aren't cheap). I may bring it back one day, but for now, I need to reallocate those funds.

Are you proposing becoming the patron of ~Music ?
I got no reason to not continue putting out content (I might even be able to bring back the weeklies and other themed events, time permitting). The only struggle I've got is funding the territory to keep it live.
If ~Music remained an active territory and it's owner didn't feel I was stepping on their toes with daily posts, I'd definitely consider it.(Again time permitting).
Great I will create a poll today and ask the stackers. If the poll says yes then I’ll cover the rent until you get back on your feet then you can take it back over (if you so choose)

You're assuming I'm ever going to be in a position to allocate funds back to it at some point in the future. Which I can't guarantee.
I read the messages about people willing to form a partnership of owners but I wouldn't have any idea how to admin that to ensure everyone got equal shares of revenue generated (what revenue 🤣).
Could set up a "StackerMusic" account and just give out the details of it to those owners. Send the payments to that account and pay the rent from it. My suggestion would be that once the account does generate enough for one months rent the owners get a month off paying into it. But from experience I think it takes many months before that happens, I've had it all mixed in with my normal stacker account and that still takes months to get to 50k. (Just not playing the rewards game properly I guess, despite being one of the top spenders consistently).
If you do this I can contribute
3m sats are a lot of sats, however haven't you thought about crowdfunding this sum and later payback all participants their parts from territory revenue?
For a single post per day for a daily Thread. Perhaps the saloon is the right place for it. Outside of the content I put out, the territory itself is rarely used or posted in.
Maybe a comment + reply Thread in the saloon would be the more cost effective spot for it.
I had been thinking about rebranding the Music Saloon to something along the lines of "jukebox".
If the Stacker Saloon got a "Jukebox" (effectively the daily post) we wouldn't need a music territory as the territory as a whole outside of the daily stuff isnt really getting much other content.
Maybe before spending rent fees, we should try that and see what level of interest there is. If it picks up and generates enough buzz in the saloon, that might reignite musics usage.
You should try superbottoms brand for your baby... It will save you alot of money.

Oh I'll still be here. I got fantasy leagues to run, but I can't foot the bill for a territory anymore.
I get it. It is tough. Sports does ok but health and fitness is a money pit. Fortunately there are four of us footing the bill for health and fitness so it isn't too big a hit. If you ever want to start Music up again and find a few others to pitch in I will contribute. What is your typical loss a month?
All of it.
I'm buying sats to pay the rent monthly and using any sats generated to zap the posts within Music or the thread.
Maybe, maybe I make 5ksats a month. Which then effectively is just a loss of 45ksats.
I've also had constant issues of zaps failing, which then means I'm not getting anything from the rewards pool as well all the zaps fail.
That's tough. Maybe monthly territory costs should be lower since zaps and rewards are lower now.
Even 10ksats a month seems like it still wouldn't float itself.
Despite a few sat raising initiatives it's just not something enough people want enough of the time to cover it's own expenses.
But perhaps if you've owned and maintained a territory for >2years you can have it lifetime on the house 😜
