I agree here, I don't believe the NSA has all this control like they want to create fear that they do; many agencies with many interested individuals, it only matters who is operating. Like Lux said here, KYC is a leash you put on yourself. I understand when @justin_shocknet says they have control—they have the data, it's there—but not of the name if you didn't put on the KYC leash and mark yourself with it. It must take a lot of work to use the whole apparatus to flag some random nobody; it's easier for him to flag himself and consent, making the job easier. And as was said in this thread, Fear is a powerful weapon.
