Only one of these can be true if you ask me but most people that oppose any reforms to US government vaccine policy hold at least two of these contradictory views, sometimes all three.
  1. Indemnity of vaccine companies from litigation is critical to avoid these companies being sued out of existence.
  2. Vaccines are safe and effective. People should get them without fear.
  3. The US legal system makes it hard for individuals to get relief from the abuse of powerful corporations.
At this point I'm surprised if people are unaware of number 1. Makers of vaccines are indemnified from lawsuits from people who have been damaged by their products. In a world where most people support individuals over corporations this policy stands out as extremely peculiar. OK, lets say that its true that the risk of litigation is just too big of a risk for companies to bare. I can get that. I don't agree but I can understand thinking that.
What I don't get is how you can say this and also say vaccines are safe and effective. If they are so safe and effective then why do the companies need this protection. Mind you... these companies pretty much single-handedly sponsor all media, online and traditional. If one is just a nut for not getting every vaccine that is introduced to the market why do we need number 1? If we need number one how can number 2 be true?
Now we get to number three. Most people I have encountered or listened to for any length of time on vaccines believes corporations have corrupted the government and legal system. While they hold this belief they also believe number 1. Companies need protection from the people.
This is one of the most illogical topics I have ever encountered in my lifetime.
I will add a couple caveats. I think it is logically acceptable to realize that yeah, there is risk in creating a product that may be safe but its long term consequences are unknown. And, at the same time think that most vaccines are largely safe and effective. That's not a position I hold but its not crazy. The problem is that the messaging from the system and the pre-RFK establishment is not reasonable at all.
During the Covid fiasco we were force-fed lies by Fauci and his clones at every level of government. He misrepresented the Covid shots as vaccines knowing it was a completely different technology. On the rare occasions he was asked pointed questions about the unknowns and risks he would come back to the bromide. Vaccines are safe and effective. If you believe that, fine. But these shots were are new relatively untested technologies. They aren't just a new formula. They are a new kind of technology. They weren't even classified as vaccines when they were being developed. This was done mid-scam to give the companies the protection in number 1.
Its wild that in 2025 these three things still are allowed to stand as legitimate beliefs held by the vax maxis. Pick one. Only one can be true. You can't have two let alone three.
I will add, I like that RFK brings up these topics and has for decades. I once fell for these lies. RFK was a part of me seeing how these sick systems works. The revolving door between state and industry. The sweet deals these scumbags in government get from the industry. The protection the industry gets from "regulation". Its all terrible.
Where I think RFK gets it wrong is that the FDA should not be a monopoly. It really should just compete with private industry watchdogs that compete for credibility. The root problem is that the state has so much weight in most people's eyes. Even after Covid. Its wild to think about but people still care about government recommendations. You are always gonna have groups that try to game the system. To me the only real solutions to fight against this is competition and breaking the sacred place state blessing of products holds.
I don't do something because the state says its safe. That's VERY foolish to me. Sadly, this is not a common view.

To be fair, I don't think the "corps are evil" crowd and the "vaccines are safe and effective" crowd have that much overlap. It only seems that way because the communist radicals and the wine-mom libs both vote democrat
reply
I disagree. It might not be as common but I know people that are VERY anti-corporation to the point of opposing capitalism itself. Plenty of democrats like to pretend they hate corporations. I run into them quite often. They would not call themselves socialist or commies. The are democrats or progressives.
The commies I've encountered usually aren't pro-indemnity, they just think the tech should be run by the state altogether. They lack the ability to understand that the state itself is a corporation. Or at least functions as one would if it had an incredible monopoly and therefore is unaffected by the good parts of free-market pressures.
I think number three is probably less common but I've encountered it a lot. Granted, plenty of these people are fake. After all, they talk a big game while using their iPhones and driving their Teslas.

As with many of these things, people are just trying to parrot whatever they've been trained to.
One line of reasoning I've had some success with, because it doesn't threaten someone's identity as a pro-science smart person, is to point out that however safe vaccines were initially, points 1 and 3 guarantee that they will become less safe over time.

Yeah, people also hate to feel like they are in the out group.

we still have some vaxxers on SN... the cognitive dissonance is so deep that you cannot imagine.

I support people's choice to put whatever they want in their bodies. But that support ends at THEIR bodies. And it is downright evil the relationship between pharma and the state which pushes these products on people using fear and social pressure as well as real state power. Its a hard line that I will not be pushed on.

the word vaccine comes from vaca: a cow, cattle; herd immunity is another cattle term that is being propagated thru media; people argue about which injectables are actually safe - it's an illusion of choice; injectables are used to lower the immune system in preparation for domination by parasites; the first 1000 days (the formative years) is when a man is set for life in his behaviors; follow my work in bio;

Number 3
Even if we can’t sue them for damages they should be forced to disclose injuries and side effects. How many vaccines manufacturers are there? I have no idea.
Also very few adults need hepatitis B vaccine. Children definitely don’t need it
