saw this post #1294752 here on sn about a dad making Bitcoin Pokemon cards for his 4yo.
So I built an entire app around it.
Lil Satoshi - an educational app where parents & educators can create, customize, and print Bitcoin trading cards to teach kids about Bitcoin.
full customization to match your kid's age. supports P2PKH, P2SH, P2WPKH, P2WSH, P2TR address types with BIP39 mnemonics in 10 languages. print actual cards or save to gallery.
app is live on Play Store (closed testing), iOS App Store (TestFlight), and Zapstore
ps: it's free and works completely offline.
Cool! Let me try this with my son

Cute.
UPDATE: I tried the app. I didn't get it. There is one card and there is nothing I can do with it.
There are also too many foreign concepts for kids, all at once.

thanks for trying it!
yeah, you're right the current version is just a customizable Bitcoin paper wallet where you can tailor all the educational content on the card to whatever makes sense for the kid, then print it out. the idea is parents can simplify or expand the explanations based on their child's age and understanding.
i got you on the "too many concepts at once", so that's exactly why the customization exists. So moving forward, i'm working on different card concepts:
  • eCash card
  • Nostr card (npub on front, nsec on back)
  • Bitcoin Lightning address card and more...
each focused on one specific concept instead of cramming everything into one card. should make it way more digestible.
appreciate the honest feedback, its super helpful for making it better! ๐Ÿ™

IMHO you're completely thinking about this in the wrong way.
Those are advanced concepts, totally useless to a kid.
Teach the why and the what behind bitcoin. At a high level. Zero jargon. Create packs of cards each with different concept, the simplest. Explained in the simplest possible way.
No kid should ever have to learn eCash, Nostr, Lightning, those will all be abstracted away hopefully. Just the same way we don't need to send emails via a terminal commands.
Take inspiration from The Tuttle Twins.
