While nostr excels in simplicity it still lacks in resiliency.
ZeroNet, while not perfect, could work over less than ideal conditions, traffic could traverse mesh networks like Yggdrasil and cjdns, while Nostr relies heavily on centralized relays.
It is a good thing that Nostr can be made P2P like Amethyst is doing, but that is just one of the characteristics needed to survive the ever increasing government overreach.
The title is misleading, but the article is not wrong, and this is not the first time I see a decentralized project compromise.
Nostr has enough of a good design to work without relays, to the point we actually have P2P capabilities baked into the Amethyst android client, but I agree that we need to change the incentive structure around relays.
